Roads to Parachinar Remain Closed; Terrorists Prevent Humanitarian Aid

A member of parliament from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Hamid Hussain has expressed deep concern over the situation in Parachinar region and the closure of roads in the area for 105 days, criticizing the actions of the authorities.

Hawzah News Agency- The Tal-Parachinar Road has been closed for more than three months, and the people of the area are facing severe shortage of basic goods such as medicine, fuel and other vital needs.

Hamid Hussain further noted,” No action has been taken by the central or provincial government to resolve this crisis. Even in the National Assembly, I was not allowed to speak about this vital issue. Ensuring the security of this road has always been the responsibility of the army and border forces, but now the government is trying to delegate this responsibility to the police force, which does not have enough capacity.

Criticizing the authorities' indifference towards the matter, he added, "Every moment is like a doomsday for the people of Khurram region. I have met all the senior officials including Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and apprised them of the dire situation in the area, but no effective action has been taken so far. This indifference and lack of sense of responsibility is unacceptable.”

Hamid Hussain called for immediate action to resolve the crisis and urged the Prime Minister, Army Chief and other officials to respond to the people’s demands and reopen the main road to the area.
